Partner meeting organized at Károli
The first in-person partner meeting within the framework of the project took place on 4–5 September 2025 at the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE). The purpose of the meeting was to align the professional and financial foundations of the project and to discuss tasks for the upcoming project period.
On the first day, following the welcome session and registration, each partner introduced — through short presentations — the regulatory, institutional, and contextual factors that shape dropout in their respective countries and institutions. Colleagues from KRE then presented the structure of machine learning projects, the logic of predictive models, and the results of a model developed using KRE’s data. This was followed by a joint discussion of the presentations and a clarification of administrative matters. The first day concluded with a joint dinner.
The second day focused on interventions. Partners presented their current institutional practices, available solutions, and student support services. In a facilitated discussion, participants explored how interventions could be targeted and tailored once predictive results become available, and special emphasis was placed on ethical and data protection considerations. The second day concluded with a joint lunch.
The first in-person partner meeting of the project was characterised by a positive atmosphere, constructive collaboration, and a strong focus on joint problem-solving. As a result, both the host institution and the partner institutions assessed the meeting as highly effective and productive.
